Cathleen Perez-Brenycz

Poetry Therapy Practitioner (PTP)

Cathleen Perez-Brenycz is the Community Voice Coordinator for iaPOETRY. She began her poetry therapy learning journey with Lila Weisberger back in 2006. She received her Poetry Therapy Practitioner certification in 2011.

Cathleen received her M.S. Ed in Early Childhood General Education from Bank Street College  in NYC in 2010. She uses Maya Angelou and Denise Levertov’s works to guide women toward empowerment. 

Cathleen is currently a primary school teacher, and she shares stories with her students daily. Every spring she teaches them how to write poetry. It’s her favorite time of year! 

She’s excited to return to the iaPOETRY community as a Community Voice Coordinator! Following this thread of life is valuable.
