A diverse vocational career ranging from documentary film to urban greening , food gardening and environmental education to volunteer coordination and operations support for local and global wellness festivals. Poetry, music, writing and environmental stewardship are the intertwined threads that weave into the private sessions, group immersions and community events I curate.
Ever curios about the connective abilities of creativity I sought out Expressive Arts as a field to venture into and was delighted to encounter Poetry Therapy as a living breathing medium to transfer my years of writing and expression into an unintended and perfectly ordained vocation. I work with poets, writers and creatives who are drawn to the cathartic capacity of their own gifts and are seeking greater insight, integration and community support - all working with themes that directly relate to the seasons of our planet and woven from the perspective of deep ecology/ecop. My goal within the realm of poetry as a tool for wellness is to contribute to an economy of wellbeing that values creativity as a necessary heartbeat of societal functioning - one which is valued, bolstered and becomes, yet again intrinsic to our individual and collective lives. In the ever emergent world(s) we live in, we must behave as ‘if everything that we do matters’ (Gloria Steinham) .
